It is the county seat for Hays County and home to Texas State University, the third largest university in the state of Texas. Where is San Marcos?
San Marcos is located on I-35 thirty miles south of Austin and fifty miles north of San Antonio. It is a great town for commuting because of the easy access to the interstate and the new loop between I-35 and RR 12 to Wimberley.
